The Blackmagic Design ATEM 2 M/E Constellation HD offers ample audio connections with two balanced 1/4-inch inputs and an endless array of ways to mix and send audio. The ATEM 2 M/E Constellation HD also incorporates a 48-channel Fairlight audio mixer for full audio control and seamless mixing between sources. Each input channel sports extensive controls including 6-band EQ, a robust compressor, a limiter, a noise gate, full stereo panning, and more. There’s also convenient level and peak metering for efficient sound monitoring with a visual reference.

Integrated talkback
When it’s showtime, communication is essential. The ATEM 2 M/E Constellation HD features integrated talkback connectors with 5-pin XLR in/out for straightforward headset connection. There’s also an RJ12 connector on the rear panel for interfacing with popular professional talkback systems including ClearCom and RTS. Via the ATEM or ATEM control software, you get full talkback control including program and engineering loops, and sidetone control for hearing a headset mic through the program mix. ATEM Constellation HD also supports SDI talkback that uses SDI channels 15 and 16 for 2-way communication with Blackmagic Design cameras. It’s even possible to mix talkback audio directly into the program mix for voiceovers.
Fast, accurate virtual sets with SuperSource
When it comes to crafting virtual sets, ATEM is sure to impress! The 2 M/E Constellation model comes packed with 8 advanced chroma keyers, a SuperSource multi-layer processor, and professional effects for transitions and composition. Thechroma keyer includes a color picker that quickly samples a background color and automatically generates key parameters for a tidy professional virtual set. You also get precise controls for edge and flare, plus a foreground color corrector for matching other layers to the background. Keyers can also be used for picture-in-picture layers or transition effects with blend and timing options; control border color, width, position, and direction. The built-in SuperSource is a powerful multi-layer processor with 4 extra DVE layers plus a background layer. Any SDI input can be used for SuperSource DVE, so it feels like having an extra multi-layer VFX switcher built in! SuperSource is convenient for picture-in-picture scenarios such as remote interviews; you can use SuperSource for layering while keeping other DVEs free for other tasks. Branded broadcasts are also a breeze; there’s a media pool for storing graphics, stills, branding, and more for live recall. As a bonus, the ATEM’s media pool, keyer, and DVE tools appear as additional input sources and will never drain your SDI inputs.
